Calcifications of the coccygeal discs are of two sorts. The first sort leads to an acute pain syndrome. I have collected some cases of hydroxyapatite crystal disease of the coccygeal joints, a variety which, to the best of my knowledge, has never been described before. See cases 1 to 5 below. The second sort is much more common, and belongs to the degenerative disc disease (see page 2)

Il y a deux sortes de calcifications du coccyx. Les premières entraînent un syndrome douloureux aigu. J'ai pu collecter quelques cas de maladie microcristalline des articulations coccygiennes, une variété qui, à ma connaissance, n'a jamais été décrite. Voyez les cas 1 à 5. Les autres sont beaucoup plus comunes et appartiennent aux discopathies dégénératives (voyez la page 2).

Case #3: The roentgenograms are very similar. Clinically, the patient complains of a very acute crisis. The pain is constant, even in the standing position and during the night. A short course of oral steroids is usually very efficient Cas 6 : Toutes ces radios se ressemblent. Cliniquement, les patients se plaignent d'une crise douloureuse très aiguë. La douleur est constante, même debout et la nuit. Une courte corticothérapie per os est en général efficace
